The World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion (WCPEC-9) brings together the global photovoltaic research community to discuss cutting-edge advances in solar energy conversion, materials, device architectures, and deployment strategies. Hosted by the Korea Photovoltaic Society (KPVS), this is the first time Korea is hosting WCPEC, highlighting the country’s rapid progress in PV science and technology.
WCPEC-9 will take place 15–20 November 2026 in Daejeon, South Korea, a major hub for technology and research often referred to as “Korea’s Silicon Valley.” With its strong ecosystem of universities, research institutes, and PV-focused R&D centers, Daejeon provides an ideal setting for a major international conference on photovoltaics and solar energy.
The conference will bring together scientists, engineers, industry professionals, and students from around the world for technical sessions, discussions on the roadmap toward ultra-high efficiency tandem solar cells and convergent PV systems, and dialogue on expanding PV deployment globally.
Why Attend
WCPEC-9 is more than a traditional research meeting — it is a global festival for the PV community offering:
World-class technical program focused on photovoltaic science, materials, and systems
Panels and sessions addressing future directions for solar energy innovation
Special programs for student and early-career researchers
Networking events, receptions, and cultural activities
Industry collaboration and technology showcases
Insight into research policy and commercialization trends
This event is valuable for anyone working on solar cells, modules, PV deployment, advanced materials, and related characterization and simulation tools.
